Food Service Assistant

 

Position Description

Major Roles and Responsibilities:

 

Under the direction of the Head Cook, this position will support our school lunch and child care meal programs. They will assist with food preparation, meal service, and kitchen clean-up, while helping ensure meals are served safely and efficiently to students.

 

Duties and responsibilities:

• Assisting with meal preparation and serving

• Delivering meals and snacks to the child care center

• Maintaining proper food safety and sanitation practices

• Helping with inventory and food storage

• Support the daily kitchen operations

• Complete other duties as assigned

Skills and qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent

• Food preparation experience preferred but not required

• Ability to follow directions, work as part of a team, and maintain a clean and safe kitchen

• Ability to lift up to 60 pounds and work in a fast-paced kitchen environment
